Like tbo27 said, in order to remote install an app they would have to be logged into your account on the Play Store via the web. You didn't mention which device you have, but sometimes these things get added in with firmware updates, so if your phone got an update pushed recently that could be what put it there. Avast actually makes pretty good free virus protection for the PC, though I still find that any sort of "mobile security" is overrated.
